| Job
Description: |
| This
position is responsible to set up, install, and secure voice and
data cables of various pair counts and sizes according to industry
and FCG standards. |
| |
|
| Major
Responsibilities - not all inclusive: |
- Install
work area outlets for floors, modular furniture and walls
- Route cable
through modular furniture
- Perform
pre-termination procedures; organize, form, dress cables, determine length,
slack & label cables
- Suspend
& support cable correctly
- Build closets
- Install
grounding for racks & equipment
- Perform
fire-stopping procedures on fire walls, install sleeves, pull
cable through sleeves, core penetration
- Identify
different types of cable
- Differentiate
& understand the difference between plenum & PVC environments
- Know the
4-pair and 25-pair color codes
- Terminate
CAT 3 and CAT 5 jacks
- Mount face
plates & surface mount boxes correctly
- Complete
connectors
- Perform
testing

| Minimum
Requirements - not all inclusive: |
- Must have
reliable transportation and meet FCG driving standards
- High school
diploma or equivalent
- Basic reading
and writing skills
- Ability
to move up to 75lbs., work at heights, off a ladder, and in
confined spaces
- Must possess
all necessary tools.
- Hand
tools: screwdriver (regular & phillips), drywall
saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips, pliers (needle
nose & channel locks), hammer and cable stripper.
- Trade
Tools: punch tool with 110 block and 66 block blade
- Ability
to travel may be required
