Position Title: Project Manager
Status: Full Time; Exempt
Position Days/Hours: Varies
   
Job Description:
The Project Manager, working closely with the Senior Project Manager, acts as the coordinator for voice and data installation projects. The Project Manager's task is to ensure job completion according to FCG and customer quality and safety requirements and to supervise the efficiency of staff assigned to the project.
   
Major Responsibilities - not all inclusive:
  • Knowledge of the universal communications color codes
  • Run power and communications cable and terminate appropriately
  • Act as mentor and management source for technicians/hold weekly safety meetings
  • Manage Project Leads and their crew(s) and oversee their paperwork (timesheets and job logs)
  • Develop troubleshooting techniques and resolve technical issues as they arise
  • Pioneer a strong leadership, mentoring and organizational environment
  • Perform pre-job interface and implement quality and job site/employee safety
  • Perform job audits and complete FCG Quality Checklist upon completion of jobs/prevent of outages
  • Evaluate direct reports and determine performance ratings, promotions and pay increases
  • Implement formal corrective action in compliance with FCG Company policy
  • Develop responsible time management to ensure profitability
  • Coordinate personnel and timeline to complete project with Senior Project Manager/Site Manager
  • Schedule Project Leads in respect to current jobs/prepare red-lined as-built drawings
  • Assist Senior Project Manager/Site Manager with day to day job walks to ensure quality
  • Assist Senior Project Manager/Site Manager with workload distribution
  • Ensure productivity, job completion and compliance to project budget
  • Ensure all Job Closing Packages meet customer and FCG standards
  • Manage tool and truck inventory/maintenance
  • Must have ability to utilize industry specific tools as required by the project
  • Other Responsibilities as required
   
Minimum Requirements - not all inclusive:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalency
  • Minimum of one (2) years supervisory or managerial experience
  • Minimum of three (5) years experience in a related technical or construction field
  • Must have prior Project Management experience
  • Must meet FCG driving standards
  • Must be willing to travel as needed
  • Must be able to read, write and possess the ability to understand blueprints and project specifications
  • Strong reading, writing and verbal communications skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and MS Project preferred
